Institute of Pathology and Genetics

IPG is a medical laboratory specialized in anatomopathology and genetic diagnostics. It employs more than 200 people on 3 sites. Clients include more than 50 hospital institutions: in Wallonia, Brussels, and more recently, in the north of the country as well. Its subsidiary BIO.be oversees all activities outside the INAMI (National Institute for Health and disability Insurance), of which forensics is the most visible. It also offers expertise in differents side fields.

IPG is the largest laboratory for pathology in Belgium. It also includes one of the country's eight approved centres for human genetics. More than 300,000 diagnoses are provided every year by the laboratory as a whole. The strength of the institute (and its subsidiary) lies in its diversity, its independence, and its desire to anticipate new biotechnological trends in the sector. Naturally, the whole group meets ISO quality standards.

Why our region?
The proximity of major hospitals, the presence of potential partners as well as excellent training centres, and the existence of a road network providing easy access to the rest of the country, were the fundamental factors.
